A 2007 Royal Philharmonic Young Artist Award nominee, André de Ridder is one of today's most innovative and exciting young conductors. A cosmopolitan crossover artist, his repertoire ranges from classical and romantic music to contemporary works as well as experimental pop and electronic music and he collaborates with artists and ensembles as diverse as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the band Gorillaz and jazz musician Uri Caine.
In his 5th year as Sinfonia VIVA’s principal conductor, André de Ridder also regularly performs with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, the Britten Sinfonia and the Hallé Orchestra. He also guest conducts outside of the UK having worked with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Tapiola Sinfonietta, the SWR Sinfonieorchester and the Camerata Salzburg.
The 2011/12 season he debuted at the Trondheim Symphony and with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and collaborating with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic at the Holland Festival.
Albion Media worked with André de Ridder on communications including his appearance at the Holland Festival, the BBC Proms, as well as three Monteverdi operas (L’Orfeo, L’incoronazione di Poppea and Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria) at Berlin’s Komische Oper under director Barrie Kosky.
