Wigmore Hall Live

Few concert venues possess the magic ingredient to play host to such a project.Gramophone

London’s Wigmore Hall is generally regarded as the world’s finest concert hall for chamber music and song, a reputation which has grown and flourished in the 105 years since its birth. It has consistently led the way for innovative song recital and chamber music programming and is beloved by artists the world over for its generous acoustic, audience rapport and warm hospitality.

Launched in October 2005, Wigmore Hall Live was the first CD label to be run by a venue. It has continuously released live recordings to great critical acclaim and in 2011 made history by becoming the first live label to win Label of the Year at the Gramophone Awards.

The label includes recitals by artists who have had a long association with the Hall, such as Sir Thomas Allen and Dame Felicity Lott; contemporary recitals including Joyce DiDonato and Iestyn Davies plus historical recitals such as the late Lorraine Hunt Lieberson’s Wigmore Hall debut from 1999. Recent releases include the Beethoven Violin Sonatas with Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien, and Schubert’s complete song cycles performed by Christopher Maltman and Graham Johnson.

Albion Media has raised the profile of the label, securing a consistently high-level of coverage in all areas of the media, as well as advising on the re-packaging of the discs and the label’s international marketing.
