Tamsin Waley-Cohen

"The most exceptionally gifted young violinist I have ever encountered” said Ruggiero Ricci of young British violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen. Recent reviews of her performances at the Southbank Centre described her by the Guardian as a performer of "fearless intensity" and by the Times as a violinist who "held us rapt in daring and undaunted performances."

Tamsin is Artistic Director of both the Bargello chamber music festival in Florence, Italy and the Tricycle Theatre’s Chamber Music Series in London which will be launched in August 2011.

Recitals in the 2010 /11 season include performances at the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Place and Kings Place. She performs as a soloist with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of St John's, London Concert Orchestra and London Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, and Brighton Philharmonic, and under conductors including Andrew Litton and Jose Serebrier.

This season also sees concerto and chamber music concerts in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Holland, Germany, & Belgium as well giving the world premiere of a new work for violin and string orchestra by Huw Watkins.
