
Croatian mezzo-soprano Renata Pokupić is known internationally through her acclaimed performances of baroque, classical and coloratura repertoire. Her recent opera engagements have included the highly acclaimed Royal Opera House, Covent Garden debut as Irene in Tamerlano (previously performed at Teatro Real, Madrid), Cherubino for Washington National Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Bradamante in Orlando Furioso for Oper Frankfurt, Sesto in La clemenza di Tito for Chicago Opera Theater, Annio in La clemenza di Tito for Opéra de Lyon and the title role in Cavalli Eliogabalo at Grange Park Opera.
A committed recitalist, Renata works with the international pianist Roger Vignoles with whom she recently made her Wigmore Hall debut.
This season (2011/12), engagements include Nerone in Agrippina in Lille and Dijon, Alcina in Orlando Furioso with Ensemble Matheus in Vienna and Madrid, Dvorak Stabat Mater with DSO Berlin under Kent Nagano, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte for Washington National Opera, St Matthew Passion with Rotterdam Philharmonic under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and the title role in Cendrillon for Opéra de Lille.
