The Prince Consort

The Prince Consort is a flexible vocal/piano group comprising of five leading young singers and a pianist. It was founded by Alisdair Hogarth, a committed song accompanist, who sees variety, flexibility and exciting programmes in the combination of singers that comprise The Prince Consort. Their programmes feature various combinations of voice with piano, from solos to small groups.

Though a relatively new ensemble, The Prince Consort has already made an impact and has performed at Aldeburgh, Oxford Lieder Festival and the Southbank Centre. They have performed the world premiere of a new song cycle by Ned Romem which whom they have struck up a close working relationship. Their first discs of songs by Rorem was released to great acclaim in 2009.

Albion Media worked with Alisdair and The Princes Consort on a series of live performances and on the release of their Rorem disc. Extensive coverage was acquired for them resulting in an increase in both ticket and CD sales.
