Onyx is an artist-led recording label with a clear principal aim: to record classical artists who are already internationally well-known but who wish to take control of their own recording projects. Onyx’s relationship with its artists is truly collaborative and is designed to enable them to choose exactly how much ownership, control and involvement in their projects they want.

Artists who currently appear on the label include, besides Mullova, James Ehnes, Yuri Bashmet, Susan Graham, the Borodin Quartet, Shai Wosner, the Nash Ensemble, Nikolai Lugansky, Pascal Rogé, Christine Schaefer and Christianne Stotijn.

Albion Media works with Onyx to ensure that all releases on the label obtain a high level of coverage across the media and recent successes have included organizing a press trip to Istanbul for the launch of a CD by the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra which resulted in huge exposure across Classic FM and the national media.
